Setting the technology direction together with a team of highly skilled SW, FPGA and HW developers

As Software Product Architect you be responsible for defining and architecting the advanced product solutions based on software and FPGA IP elements for networking (e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP and virtual network switching) and compute (e.g. data compression and IPSec) to secure Napatech a continued technology leadership position. Your primary focus will be on the software part.

You will be reporting to our Chief R&D Officer and be part of our Office of Technology together with a small team of peers. You will have a close relationship with the other functions in R&D (SW, FPGA, HW, Test, Project Management and Tech Support) playing a critical role in maintaining technology expertise, agility and motivation cross R&D.

You are responsible for compiling technical requirements for the product architecture through dialogue with their Product Managers, leading customers and technology partners.

You will be working closely together with a development team with highly skilled software, FPGA and HW developers acting as “technical playing coach” guiding the team through definition of the architecture and implementation of solutions based on the defined architecture.

Together with your peers in the Office of Technology you will participate in implementing “best-in-class” methodologies and tools for product architecture based on agile principles.

You will have the opportunity to engage with and influence leading international technology providers and customers as well as ecosystem partners in open source communities.

Product Architect with strong software background

We expect you have a proven track record as Product Architect or System Developer originating from the software industry. Alternatively you have a strong background as Senior Software Developer with a keen interest to take your career to the next level as Software Product Architect.

You lead “by example” and show courage by leading the way for the team. You have a structured and analytical work approach.

We imagine you have an educational background as M. Sc. EE or similar and have insight into network technology (Ethernet, TCP/IP) and servers at system level as well as Linux at OS level.

An extra plus if you have experience with FPGA/ASIC IP technology or hands-on experience with datacenter network infrastructure (e.g. virtual network switching and network security) or software deployment in Cloud.
