Student Assistant

Would you like to bring your academic skills to work and are you eager to learn more in the networking industry? Then Napatech might be the place for you. We are currently looking for a Student Assistant for our system test department, as well as our system test lab.

The system test lab includes a large server park with various test set-ups such as: Performance, time sync, interoperability, and regression tests. The test set-ups will be used with operating systems that change from release to release, so several different server configurations will be running simultaneously.

What you will do

As Student Assistant you will join our test department, which consists of 5 highly skilled colleagues. You will assist in the operations of Napatech’s system test lab, which is involved in system test of the group’s product portfolio of intelligent network adaptors. These include proprietary hardware as well as software drivers, applications and tools for servers running on Linux, or Windows operating systems.

Your typical work activities will be:

• The installation and upgrading of operative systems in our server park
  • Including the maintenance of configuration scrips
• Upgrading and installation of servers
• Installation of new network and test infrastructure
• Maintenance of test help tools and scripts
• The documenting of the system test lab status on the wiki-based

Who are you

You are in your bachelor’s or first year master’s student e.g., engineering and a general interest in Networking, testing and hardware products. At Napatech we work with Linux, Windows and Python.

On a personal level you are self-driven, ambitious and have a general learning interest. Takes initiative and can work independently.

To succeed as a student assistant, we are expecting you to:

• Have knowledge of PC/server hardware at systems level
• Have knowledge of scripting
• Speak and write fluently in Danish and English

It will be advantageous if you:

• Have experience with test/system test
• Have experience with the configuration of IP networks
• Have experience with data communication and network protocols
• Have hands-on experience with network test equipment, for example Spirent, WireShark or IXIA
