Napatech, the leading provider of reconfigurable computing, is looking for an experienced Technical Application Engineer, with a solid technical background and a keen interest in working with our valued customers.

 

What you will do

Working as a Technical Application Engineer, you will work in a global role and be a valued part of the R&D department, facilitating current customer perspectives to the product development department, hence ensuring competitive and cutting-edge products to a global market.

 

A typical day at work includes customer contact, reproducing the customers challenges in Napatech’s development lab, facilitating the debugging together with the developers, guiding the customer from incident to resolution and ensuring the transfer of valuable knowledge about product performance to R&D. First level customer contact is handled by the Field Application Engineers, and your focus will mainly be on handling technical challenges in product performance.

 

Who are you

We imagine that you today are recognized, not only for your drive and motivation to work with technical details, but also for your ability to bridge the gap between the customer application and product development, where the customer span goes from a non-technical end-user to a senior technical person. You are a natural helper, enjoys researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and you are driven by identifying solutions to resolve system issues, and can explain technical details in somewhat simpler terms.

 

You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, and enjoy using your great communication skills.

 

Qualification & Experience

You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar function as: Product Development Engineer, Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Sales Engineer or Technical sales. A background with Linux administration, REST APIs, cURL, wget, python, CentOS, Debian, Cloud/Virtualization will be an advantage.

 

You have experience with:

  • Programming (C/C++) / scripting (Shell, Python, …)
  • Network Packet Capture
  • Network Fundamentals and Analysis (L2 –L4)
  • IP Networks
  • Linux, LibPCAP, tcpdump, Wireshark and/or similar technology and tools. Experience with Suricata, BRO/Zeek, SNORT etc. is a plus
  • Network troubleshooting using pcap data to debug issues and analyze use cases

 

You are familiar with:

  • Server Architecture x86
  • Cloud or Virtualization technologies (including OVS/DPDK/SR-IOV/SDN/Open Stack)
  • Open-source solution and tools for Log analysis
  • Networks Security – understanding the principal concepts
  • Tools like Splunk, QRadar, Arcsight, Nitro SIEMs and how packet information complements event data; experience with FireEye, Palo Alto, RSA Netwitness, Blue Coat Solera
